Reginald (Reggie) Carter is the Executive Director with 20+ years in the IDD realm. Reggie is originally from Atlanta, GA and holds a B.S. Degree in Business from Liberty University. After 5 years of working successfully as a Case Manager, Reggie recognized and understood the growing need for quality services for the IDD population. Reggie founded Life Based Conceptions, LLC in 2007. Reggie ensures that LBC’s mission of creating opportunities and maximizing an individual’s potential are achieved. Reggie takes pride in meeting financial objectives and developing resources that enable program expansion. In his free time, Reggie enjoys mentoring youth, exploring new technologies and gadgets, being active within his fraternity, Omega Psi Phi and spending quality time with his grandchildren.

Angel Corbett is a native of Alamance County. I have been with LBC for 1 year and have worked in the field of helping individuals and their families with intellectual disabilities for over 10 years. I believe in bringing smiles and providing a helping hand when needed to individuals and their families. In my spare time, I love to cook, be a mother, spend time with family and friends, go shopping, and travel.

Lacresha Carter-Sims is the Residential Manager at LBC. She is committed to nutritional wellness and organization. She has spent the last 2 years creating relationships in the community to improve the lives of individuals in the IDD community. Lacresha initiates and implements activities that promote a healthy lifestyle and community inclusiveness while empowering clients to have a voice and choice in their lives. Lacresha is passionate about her work and is a self-described Enthusiast.

Habibatu (Tutu) Turay, as the Operations Director, provides company leadership and management for LBC. She began her career with Life Based Conceptions in 2007. As a Qualified Professional, Tutu is committed to serving the needs and providing an environment of compassion and support to individuals and families with intellectual disabilities. She believes that change happens when people are given the support that they need to draw on their strengths and realize their potential to live fulfilling and happy lives.

Hello, my name is Ericka Bacchus. I’m originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and I’ve been a resident of Durham, NC for many years. My experience includes working as a caregiver for 12 years, as well as a background with the IDD population over a span of 4 years. I hold an Associate's degree in Divinity, which is a human services degree, and I am actively pursuing higher education.

I volunteer in my local church assembly as a youth leader, and I am also a registered homeschool teacher with credentials as a certified substitute teacher through the Wake County School System. With my diverse background, I plan to encourage, inspire, and uplift every individual whose path I cross. Finally, “Winners aren’t people who never fail, but people who never quit.” (Vince Lombardi)

Essence Gee is a native of Durham, NC, and currently serves as the Quality Control Administrator. With over 15 years of experience in helping and assisting others, she has a genuine passion for supporting people in any way possible. My name is Vanessa Holloway, a proud native of Durham, and I serve as a Qualified Professional at Life Based Conceptions (LBC). As a Qualified Professional at LBC, I am dedicated to assessing individual needs, coordinating personalized care plans, and ensuring individuals receive essential support and services to improve their quality of life. I have a passion for exploring the outdoors, from beach trips to walking trails. I hold a Bachelor’s degree from North Carolina Central University, and I love spending time with family, diving into art, and drawing inspiration from my favorite poet, Maya Angelou, who reminds us, “People will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Caring for others is at the heart of who I am and what I do.

Public Relations Porsha is a 16-month-old Great Dane. At LBC, we believe you should bring up a child in the ways that it should go, and that includes our dog. Her job as a Public Relations representative is to make new people comfortable when we have visitors at the office. Unfortunately, Porsha is very shy at this point, but we’re sure that over time, she will grow into her position.

Porsha loves running around while looking like a goofy puppy just learning to run and taking rides in the car. She loves taking care of her family as well as their grandkids. Her dad loves that she can come to the office and simply sleep under his desk and be happy.

I moved from Virginia in 2011 and graduated from high school in 2014. I am a big music junkie and have also danced for roughly 12 years. I am passionate about helping others and consider myself to be highly empathetic. I firmly believe in the principle of "you get what you give" in life. Family is extremely important to me, and I adore children. I have nine years of experience in customer service and have worked as a nanny for five years. I am currently pursuing a degree in Psychology. My long-term goal is to obtain my master's degree and work with children as a therapist or in the social work field.
